The 43-year-old actor was asked by host Jimmy, 49, about his daughters Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7, coming to the Oscars rehearsal as he prepared to perform the nominated song I'm Just Ken from the Barbie movie.
'When they come see you do I'm Just Ken, do they go, ''Oh, yeah, daddy's fun. He's awesome?'',' Jimmy said.
'Dad's kenning again,' Ryan replied.

'They were,' Ryan confirmed.
'I mean, look, it was their, you know, interest in Barbie and their disinterest in Ken that sort of started all of this,' Ryan said.
Ryan, who has been in a relationship with Eva Mendes, 50, since 2011, said his work on Barbie was a 'team effort' with his girls.
'And they were on the film, and they came to set when I filmed the number. But there's also been, like, a a lot of this has no context for them. You know, it's just like a lot of fake tan stains around the house,' Ryan said.
He added: 'So, I wanted them to come to the dress rehearsal just to give it some kind of context for what had been going on.'
Ryan said it was their first big show.
'But they knew all the choreography better than I do,' Ryan said.
He said they also knew the songs and were eager to help their father.

Ryan, Margot Robbie and Barbie director Greta Gerwig are shown on the set of Barbie
'Oh, my god, they're backstage kind of like showing me,' Ryan said.
Ryan was on the NBC talk show to promote his new film The Fall Guy and his upcoming hosting gig this weekend on Saturday Night Live.
Jimmy said he read somewhere that Barbie director Greta Gerwig, 40, thought he would be perfect for Ken after seeing him on a Saturday Night Live sketch.
Ryan recalled the sketch written by Alex Moffat about a guy who just joined the SoHo House.
'Like the first line was like Sergeant Blackout reporting for booty,' Ryan remembered.
'That's a good line,' Jimmy said.
'Who would have thought that Greta Gerwig was watching that going, like, "That's my Ken.'',' Ryan said laughing.
Ryan described his new movie The Fall Guy as a 'love letter to the stunt community.'

Ryan described his new movie The Fall Guy as a 'love letter to the stunt community'
'I like started on a kid's TV show, "Young Hercules," and I've had a kind of stunt double my whole life. And there's always been this weird thing where they come to set, they do all the hard stuff, they take the hits for you, they risk more than anyone, and then they disappear into the shadows,' Ryan said.
'So that stops here,' Ryan said.
Ryan gushed about working with British actress Emily Blunt, 41, on The Fall Guy for the first time and said she was 'unflappable'.
He said they evacuated the set in Australia due to a monsoon-like storm and some of the trailers were starting to float away.
Ryan noticed that Emily's car was still out front of her trailer amid knee-high water.
'So, I ran up to the trailer, and I opened up the door, I was like, "Emily, you got to go." And she was meditating,' Ryan said.
Emily told Ryan that she would be fine.
'I was like, ''You're too chill.'',' Ryan said.
The Fall Guy is scheduled to be released in the US and Canada by Universal Pictures on May 3.
The film broke a Guinness World Record for the most cannon rolls performed in a car with 8 1/2 rolls.
